A hierarchical personal site built with Astro. The folder structure automatically defines the site structure β no frontmatter or manual routing required.
## Getting Started
1. Install dependencies:

Deploying to Cloudflare Workers
This site deploys to Cloudflare Workers with Workers Assets.
First Time Setup
# Install dependencies (includes Wrangler)
npm install
# Login to Cloudflare
npx wrangler login
Deploy
# Build and deploy in one command
npm run deploy
This will:
- Build your static site to
dist/ - Deploy it to Cloudflare Workers
- Give you a live URL at
https://personal-site.<your-subdomain>.workers.dev
Configuration
The wrangler.jsonc file configures the deployment:
- name: Your worker name (appears in URL)
- assets.directory: Points to
./distwhere Astro builds static files - compatibility_date: Cloudflare Workers compatibility date
How It Works
Automatic Routing
The site automatically converts your folder structure into pages:
src/content/index.mdβ/(home page)src/content/health/index.mdβ/health/(branch page with links to children)src/content/health/addictions.mdβ/health/addictions/(leaf page with content)
Branch vs Leaf Pages
- Branch pages: Pages with children (subdirectories or sibling files) show a list of links to those children
- Leaf pages: Pages without children just show the content
Adding Content
Just create a new Markdown file anywhere in src/content/:
# Add a new top-level section
src/content/projects/index.md
# Add a page under an existing section
src/content/work/consulting.md
# Add nested content
src/content/work/projects/my-project.md
The site will automatically:
- Create the appropriate routes
- Generate breadcrumb navigation
- Determine if itβs a branch or leaf page
- List children on branch pages
No Configuration Needed
- No frontmatter required in markdown files
- No manual route configuration
- Folder structure = site structure
