Pain, Suffering and God

I always knew I wanted to build something mine.

I did not expect the amount of pain and suffering that would come with taking the leap of faith.

I now believe that pain and suffering are warranted.
And that success is a gift from God.

I see myself as a pirate searching for a treasure, sailing a violent sea. Every now and then, a new storm to sail through.

Pain

Nothing is given. Every little thing requires effort, and most effort goes unrewarded.
At first it’s annoying, then angering, at last depressing.

Pain is the only guarantee.

Suffering

Pain is unavoidable. You choose how much to suffer.

The crew is very important, shared pain leads to laughter.
When you decide it’s okay to sink and there’s someone that refuses to, you live until the next storm.
The wrong crew leads to the most suffering.

God

Finding the treasure is mostly luck. When I think about it I see God. As faceless as I am faithless.

I can curse him, thank him and everything in between, it only changes my mood, which is enough.

All in all

The world is not made for people who want to be different. They are rewarded with pain and opt into suffering beyond what they imagined.
It’s ok, brings them closer to God.

Failure is a choice, success is a gift from God. You can always choose pain.

I have had my ups-and-downs. I’ve wanted to quit: throw the boat, stay on land.
I’ve wished not to find the map so I could stop searching for the treasure.
But God had other plans, picked me up when I was at my lowest.

I want to smile to the pain, sail the seven seas, and if I have to fight to stay afloat, so be it.
